what is a Green Bandanna?

A Green Bandanna is a person who has dedicated their time to planning and executing the festival start to finish. They work tirelessly on making this festival happen. Onsite, they are there to answer questions, get you registered, help out in whatever way they can, and step up if a problem arises. They wear a green bandanna on them when they are “On Duty” so feel free to ask questions or just say hello any time you see a green bandanna.

where is the campground and are there any food or lodging option nearby?

what is primitive camping?

Primitive camping includes a site, a fire ring (where available), access to a communal water spigot, and parking on your site.

what about the bathrooms?

Yes, the rumors are true. They are very clean, well maintained, and climate controlled. A rare luxury indeed.

where is registration?

For those who are primitive camping you can bypass the campground registration and proceed directly to check in with Mountain Mysteries registration to receive your parking pass, schedule, and armband. Typically one of the green bandannas will be set up right at festival entrance at thee registratin tent or will have a mobile registration unit to get you set up once you arrive. If you need help and can’t find someone just grab a green bandanna to help.

For those who are choosing a cabin, RV, or deluxe tent site you will need to check in and pay at the campground registration. You will then need to stop by Mountain Mysteries registration to receive your schedule, parking pass, and armband.

do you offer refunds

No, our events are held rain or shine and we do not offer refunds. Please be advised that some of the best festivals are in the rain!

We, at times, offer workshops with an additional charge (make it take its, cooking meals, etc…). These charges cover the costs of supplies and are therefor also non refundable.

smoking/vaping

There is no smoking/vaping in the festival area. This includes the entire area inside the road, youth area, and workshop area(s).

Marijuana use onsite may result in our expulsion from the campground.

We have not found any laws specific to edibles.

How can I help?

If you are looking for ways to help onsite there are plenty of opportunities and our Volunteer Coordinator can get you heading in the right direction or ask any Green Bandanna. We appreciate all the help we can get!

If you are looking to donate energy and effort in a planning capacity we would love to talk with you. We have several different areas that need to be overseen in order to make this festival happen. This ranges from Guest Services to Entertainment, to Marketing, to Site, and more. If you have a special talent in these areas and enjoy volunteer work we would love to get in touch! Email us directly mountainmysteries1@gmail.com or grab a Green Bandanna onsite.

is camping with friends allowed?

You may have up to 8 people on primitive campsites.

are sites assigned?

There are no assigned sites. You may choose where you would like to stay within the Mountain Mysteries primitive area.

how accessible is the campground?

Most of the restrooms have bars and ramps if needed. The one nearest the event area has a ramp and bars. The road is paved in areas but the event area is on a gravel section of the road. The ground is relatively flat but there are roots above ground.

is registration only online?

As of now you may still drop in onsite. We may end up changing it in the future to online only sales but for now we are just happy that you are able to join us.

We are asking that you fill out an online registration form for yourself and all members of your party. This will speed up onsite registration and help us achieve our goal of being as paper free as possible.

If you have not filled out an online registration form you will still need to fill one out onsite (it too will be online because the wifi is great) for every member of your party.

We still accept cash payments onsite but the registration form is required for attendance. This includes minors.
